This decorative mankishi figure made of wood with black brown shiny patina, pieces of fur and a blue glass bead necklace, is from the Songe who live in Kasai-Oriental in Zaire. According to the owner this figure was used as a dance fetish, as well as a fetish for boy circumcision. The African wooden figure is in good condition with minimal signs of wear. On the head of the sculpture there is a hole visible. The height of the figure measures in 38 cm. (bal) Literature:
