Descripción : Wood, pieces of fur, blue glass bead necklace Kasai-Oriental, Zaire, mid-20th century Songe people Utilization as dance fetish and fetish for boy circumcision Black brown shiny patina Height: 38 cm Good condition This decorative ‘mankishi’ figure made of wood with black brown shiny patina, pieces of fur and a blue glass bead necklace, is from the Songe who live in Kasai-Oriental in Zaire. According to the owner this figure was used as a dance fetish, as well as a fetish for boy circumcision. The African wooden figure is in good condition with minimal signs of wear.
