This mask is believed to be a female mask as it has a flattened round head crest and by the predominant use of white clay. Female masks exude beauty, tranquility and inner peace. They are not aggressive, unlike their male counterpart, either in their appearance or in their behavior. The dancer who wears the female mask displays more gentle and controlled movements and is assumed to be associated with reproduction ceremonies.
