Description : Egypt, Late Dynastic to Ptolemaic Period, ca. 664 to 30 BCE. A pair of hand-carved steatite scarabs covered in green glaze that are affixed to modern 14K+ gold earring settings. Each scarab has insectile topside features as well as inscribed hieroglyphs depicting a bird, a cobra, and a scarab within a cartouche border. Each earring setting is stamped with 14K.
