Provenance : A gift from the artist to Charles Peers, the current owner's grandfather
Exhibited : Taylor Art Gallery, Pietermaritzburg, Exhibition of Oil Paintings by Allerley Glossop and Water Colour Sketches by Charles E Peers, 18 June 1924, a copy of the catalogue is included with this lot
Notes : In 1924 Allerley Glossop and Charles Peers went on a three week painting trip in a donkey wagon to the Drakensberg from Ladysmith.   He kept a diary of the trip.  This picture shows their wagon and the tents they occupied.   In June of that year, probably at the conclusion of the trip, they had a joint exhitibion at the Taylor Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg.
