DoughertyThence by direct descent to the current ownerMr Joseph Dougherty was an attaché at the US embassy and acting US Consul-General in Johannesburg, he purchased this work during his secondment to Pretoria (1963-65). Mrs Dougherty opened the 1964 Adler Fielding exhibition and was well acquainted with the artist. The photo illustrated shows Mrs Dougherty and the artist at the Adler Fielding opening.
