Notes : Provenance:Adler Fielding Gallery, Johannesburg, October 1964;Mr & Mrs Joseph L. Dougherty;Thence by direct descent to the current owner.Mr Joseph Dougherty was an attaché at the US embassy and acting US Consul-General in Johannesburg, he purchased this work during his secondment to Pretoria (1963-65). Mrs Dougherty opened the 1964 Adler Fielding exhibition and was well acquainted with the artist, the photo illustrated shows Mrs Dougherty and the artist at the Adler Fielding opening.
