Embroidered in vivid, candy-coloured letters on rich, black velvet-like fabric, it reads like a spoken manifesto - defiant, rhythmic and deeply self-aware. The deliberately phonetic, slang-inflected spellings - "delishuz," "ambishuz," "presiguz" - evoke urban dialects and queer vernaculars, celebrating subcultural voices while challenging traditional linguistic norms. By embedding such charged language within the ornate format of a prayer rug, Ruga stages a collision of sacred and profane, high art and street culture, respectability and resistance. The decorative border underscores this tension, echoing tradition while the center erupts with radical narrative. This tapestry stands as a declaration of personal power, communal pride, linguistic play and the transformative artistry of self-definition.
