These figures are called the 'owner of the house' or 'father and mother, the owner of the house', where 'house' means the building in which the members of the 'Ogboni'- assoctiation congregate, a association that goes beyond all kinship relations within a village, and has the power to reconciliation and adjudication in disputes between the villagers.According to a thermoluminescence expertise no. 06020506 by Ralf Kotalla, dated 24.5.2006, these figures are about 140 years old (+/- 30%). The pair of figures is in very good condition with minimal signs of age and wear. The male figure measures 15.5 cm and the female 15 cm. (asi)Literature:
