This is the rating and price for Views On The Nile: Cairo To The Second Cataract, 1843

Description : This folio tinted lithograph is from Owen Jones & Jules Goury's Views on the Nile: Cairo to the Second Cataract. The work was published in London by Graves and Warmsley in 1843. The lithographs were drawn on stone by George Moore. There was a 19th century renewal of interest in Egyptian culture, that led Jones and Goury to travel down the Nile. They illustrated the ruins of ancient Egypt, and great influenced Victorian design. Mr. Owen established his reputation as an architectural draughtsman by his superb work on the Alhambra, and his coadjutor Jules Goury was a very accomplished artist, who studied architecture, that of Egypt in particular, thoroughly.., The size of the plates is favourable for conveying an idea of the gigantic scale of Egyptian art.. (The Spectator. Vol. 16. London, 1843, p. 572).
