Description : Book Details: This lot consists of the Sotheby's auction catalogs from 1993, 1994, and 1995, detailing the Greek vases, antiquities, and Islamic art for sale at auctions during those years. Present in this lot are eight copies of Greek Vases from the Hirschmann Collection, for the auction on December 9th, 1993, in their dust jackets. Also present are eight volumes of Antiquities and Islamic Art, three of which are for the December 8, 1994 auction. These volumes are profusely illustrated with color photographs of Greek and Islamic antiquities, including ceramics, bronze and marble sculptures, tablets, and gold. This collection of books is from the holdings of Archaeologia Books and Prints. Established in 1983, Archaeologia was known for providing scholarly books of quality on the archaeology of Ancient Egypt, the Near East, Greece & Rome, and the Pre-Columbian Americas.
