This is the rating and price for Hand Carved Wooden Eket Mask

Description : Title: Hand Carved Wooden Eket Mask Origin: African Medium: Wood, Pigment Dimensions: 12 x 3 3/4 inches. Condition:Good Additional: This mask is believed to be an Eket mask of the Ibibo people originating from Nigeria. In the center, there is a face with prominent straight eyebrows, narrow slit eyes, a triangular nose, and mouth bordering the chin. The outer rim has triangular reliefs with crescent shapes on the top and sides. The rim extends past a tall hollowed out back. It appears to have red, brown, white, and blue pigment throughout the mask. The Eket devoted a majority of their worship to the sun and the moon. The face is believed to symbolize The Great Mother, a creative spirit linked to the full moon. The triangular shapes on the rim may be connected to the sun's rays or to traditional animal teeth necklaces worn during ceremonies by the divining members of the community. These masks were often used in agricultural festivals or funeral ceremonies.
