Description : Extremely attractive Egyptian carnelian & gold necklace(acq. 1906 Egypt, Dubois, exhibited museums: Met NY 1920, Boston 1945, MoM CA 1968) with 48 superb carnelian beads (possibly Middle Kingdom) strung together with a total of 5 Roman gold filigree pendants which appear to be gold sheet overlay: three intricate gold bead balls applied & engraved designs, two gold pendants. Newer clasp on each end

Size : 18 long (46 cm), gold beads vary 1/2x1/2 (1.2cm) approx.
Provenance : Mr. & Mrs. Goddard Dubois. Acquired Egypt 1900-06.
Notes : Gold beads possibly from mounds at ancient Sebennytos 30th Dynasty per Mrs. Dubois handwritten notes
Condition report : Very good, all carnelian beads in tact, gold plain pendant has possibly a stress crack around neck, other gold pendant has small section missing.
