This is the rating and price for Egyptian Pre-Dynastic Flint Knife

Description : Egypt, late Pre-Dynastic, ca. 3200 BCE. This is a percussion flaked knife made in the classic style with a long curved blade edge and a straight back edge. This knife is made of a brown-grey chert instantly recognizable to a lithic expert as being from ancient Egypt. At one time, it may have had a handle of gilded material or something perishable -- for example, the Pitt Rivers Museum Egyptian flint knife has a decorated ivory handle, as does the Gebel el-Arak knife held by the Louvre. Blades of ceremonial knives like those examples and this one are uniformly made of this particular colored chert, which some researchers have interpreted to be an emulation of the color of metal. Comes with custom stand. Size: 4.4 L x 1.4 W (11.2 cm x 3.6 cm) Provenance: Ex-Sarkisian collection, Denver, CO acquired before 1960 All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
