This is the rating and price for Egyptian Late Period Terracotta Bes Statuette

Description : Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A mold-formed terracotta statuette of the dwarf deity Bes with a smooth, highly-burnished verso. He stands in full portrait atop an integral ovoid base with his arms draped to his sides and his hands flanking his bulbous abdomen. Enormous almond-shaped eyes eclipse the petite nose and lips, and his unruly beard is oftentimes depicted as a lion's mane in ancient Egyptian art. Bes watched over the household, particularly the women and children of the house, and protected them with the magical sign sa. A statuette like this example would have been placed in the home as a ward against malevolent forces. Custom wooden display stand included. Size: 1.8 W x 4.9 H (4.6 cm x 12.4 cm), 5.75 H (14.6 cm) on included custom stand. Provenance: private Southern California, USA collection, acquired in the 1970s to mid-1980s All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
