Description : Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th to 19th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1189 BCE. A mold-formed faience scarab pendant of ovoid form with sinuous legs, a slender head with a frilled clypeus, and a folded wing carapace with a curved, striated band on one half, a suspension hole is drilled lengthwise through the body. The underside of the pendant features an enclosed cartouche of Pharaoh Thutmose III (ca. 1479-1425 BCE) that is oriented horizontally above the back of a right-facing crocodile.
