Description : Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom, 18th to 19th Dynasty, ca. 1550 to 1189 BCE. A mold-formed faience scarab pendant of ovoid form with sinuous legs, a slender head with a frilled clypeus, and a folded wing carapace with a curved, striated band on one half, a suspension hole is drilled lengthwise through the body. The underside of the pendant features an enclosed cartouche of Pharaoh Thutmose III (ca. 1479-1425 BCE) that is oriented horizontally above the back of a right-facing crocodile. Size: 0.71 L x 0.49 W (1.8 cm x 1.2 cm) Provenance: private Toronto, Ontario, Canada collection, by descent, acquired in Egypt in 1894 to 1896 All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
