This is the rating and price for Early 20Th C. African Kirdi Iron Throwing Mafa Knife

Description : **Originally Listed At $250** Central Africa, Cameroon, Kirdi peoples, ca. early to mid-20th century CE. A heavy throwing knife known as a mafa (also matakam) with a hammered iron body that terminates in a thick handle and a pommel with a tip that is bent to form a suspension loop. The blade head consists of two curves that terminate in a tapering and blunt point. A narrow barb protrudes from the center of the curves, and a hammered iron ring loop is attached to the lower curve. Dozens of incised hash marks adorn both sides of the blade and the peripheries, which give this impressive weapon a personalized presentation. Although called a throwing knife such pieces are quite hefty and were likely carried as symbols of prestige rather than for combat.
