Description : Finely detailed hand carved decorative Chokwe Pwo or mwana pwo, the most popular dance mask among Chokwe culture. The face is covered in beautiful scarifications, the rattan braid acts as a face cover, the mask itself would lie on top of the head of the dancer. Ample amounts of wood raffia beads representing hair. Though representing a beautiful woman and the history of the founding female ancestors, these masks would be worn by men covered in fully braided fiber dress to hide their identity.
