ancient Near East, Holy Land, Early Bronze Age II, ca. 3000 to 2700 BCE, a simple and elegant vessel with long neck, curved handle and slightly flared rim, flat base, this style of vessel is known as Abydos Ware, so named by early archaeologists who first found them in mortuary contexts in Egypt - but they were made in the Holy Land, 15in. (38.2cm.) high.
