Description : This lot contains a African Yoruba peoples fully beaded totem. The totem is based on early trade cloth, and depicts a snake, and featuring a large array of trade seed bead colors, including, Chalk White, Blood Red, Semi-Translucent Green, Black, Robin Egg Blue, Semi-Transparent Red, Dark Blue, and a wide variety of metallic colors. The piece shows a majority of its design in a geometric motif, though there is a pictorial bird, a snake, and two 3-D masks shown in the intricate bead work. The totem hangs off of a fully beaded loop, attached to the end of the head. The totem is in good condition overall. The piece measures 58 1/2 long, and 9 1/2 wide.
