This is the rating and price for African Tribal Art, Baule Carved Wood Horned Mask

Description : AFRICAN TRIBAL ART, BAULE CARVED WOOD HORNED MASK - (Ivory Coast) Having a white painted face, elongated slender nose and pouty lips, characteristic of Baule carvings. Possibly intended to be worn for an entertainment dance, it may represent a particular individual. Ornaments above the face, such as horns, were chosen for beauty and seem to have no iconographic significance. The knob at the base would be useful to hold and/or to remove the mask during the dance or skit. Unmarked. Condition good commensurate with age. Late 19th/Early 20th century. Approx 15H x 5.5W
