This is the rating and price for African Attye Wood Female Figure

Description : **Originally Listed At $500** Western Africa, Ivory Coast, the Lagoon Regions, Attye (or Akye) peoples, ca. early to mid 20th century CE. A lovely standing female figure, hand-carved from hard wood, standing upon delineated legs atop an integral ovoid plinth. She wears a simple loincloth, with both arms held against her abdomen, perhaps indicative of pregnancy, with pendulous breasts presented below sloping shoulders. Her thick neck supports an oblong head, its serene visage comprised of almond-shaped eyes, a petite nose, a thin mouth, cupped ears, and a pair of scarification marks across her cheeks. Painted jet-black and decorated with a beautiful swirled design, this is a fantastic example from the Ivory Coast! Custom wooden display stand included. Size: 12.75 H (32.4 cm), 13.5 H (34.3 cm) on included custom stand. Provenance: private New York, New York, USA collection All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
