Description : , (Uitgegeven in de 28 aflevering, de 5e van de IIIe Afd. van de Aegyptische Monumenten van het Museum). Leyden, E.J. Brill, 1882, consisting of [2],14[=10] text-pp. & 27 Roman numb. double-p. col. lithogr. plates by T. Hooiberg. Large folio (ca. 54 x 38 cm.), 20th-cent. gilt-lettered imitation half-calf, in a matching slipcase. ¶ Very rare edition with Dutch text (no copies in NCC, only 1 copy in WorldCat) edited by the Dutch Egyptologist Conrad Leemans (1809-1893). In 1882 an edition with French text was published simultaneously by E.J. Brill (only 1 copy in NCC). The finely executed plates (printed on handmade paper) were lithographed by the Dutch print-maker Timen Hooiberg (1809-1897) faithfully reproducing an ancient Egyptian papyrus (dep. hieroglyphs & scenes of the Book of the Dead) present in the collection of the National Museum of Antiquities in Leiden. – Lacks text-pp. 5-8 (replaced by 20th-cent. photostats), a few plates sl. frayed in outer blank margins, but else in good condition.
