Description : Primitive Art African Copper Bronze Putchu Guinadji Rider Figurines - Sao / Kotoko - Cameroon / Chad. Lost wax method, from Benin kilns. Depicting two warriors with weapons and shields astride each horse. Roughly 10 x 6 x 2 each. Very good condition, coppery patina. The Sao were a loosely organized language group that formed a civilization which is now extinct and who occupied a geographical area that covered Cameroon, Chad and Nigeria, between the 12th and the 14th centuries.
