Description : A group of attractive painted pottery fragments. Lot includes a sherd of a Coptic vessel from Egypt, c. 4th - 5th Century AD, with a facing male head in brown slip, the features handsomely rendered, (3 in x 3 in, 7.6 x 7.6 cm), the second a sherd from a Greek Red-Figure vessel, c. 4th Century BC, depicting a youth seen in profile, holding a staff or sceptre, (4 in x 3 in, 10.1 x 7.6 cm). the third a large section from a Greek Bell Krater, Apulia, c. 4th Century BC, with laurel border, (8 ¾ in x 4 ¼ in, 22.2 x 11 cm), the last is a large sherd from a Hellenistic Megarian bowl, c. 3rd - 2nd Century BC, with bands of molded relief, (3 in x 2 5/8 in, 7.6 x 6.7 cm).
