Description : A Fragmentary Faience Figure of a Hippopotamus, 12th Dynasty, 1938-1759 B.C., recumbent with its massive head resting on the foreleg, the head and body painted in black with aquatic plants, a lotus blossom covering the forehead and shoulders, a large rosette on the left flank; remains of bright turquoise-blue glaze.
