Description : Property from the Estate of David Rapkin Description: African Bronze Container with Figures, Earthenware Vessel and Metal Vase, comprising a 9 in. bronze container, supported by three figures and with figural finial on lid, probably Benin, Nigeria (some small losses, oxidation and pitting to surface), a 14 1/4 in. earthenware vessel with decorative bands, probably Nigeria, with woven stand (one band broken and repaired with some cracks) and a 14 in. painted metal vase with figural design, with ring handles, plaster in base (with loss and large crack to one side, pitting and oxidation to surface, one other small loss). Provenance of Nigerian objects: Exhibited African Art in Unlikely Places: The David Rapkin Collection, University of Nebraska, Eisentrager-Howard Gallery, 2012. Measurements: Height: of earthenware vessel, 14 1/4 in. x Width: 10 1/2 in. Condition: Overall good condition, see description.
