Description : Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A gorgeous, unique, and wearable set of earrings displaying matching molded faience pendants that depict Khnum, the ram-headed creator god thought to be the source of the Nile River. Each example of Khnum is shown striding atop an integral plinth, holding both arms against a pleated kilt, and staring forward with eyes protruding between pairs of grand horns. Each plinth is secured within a vintage gilt copper base and hangs from a setting formed from 61% gold (equivalent to 14K+). The dorsal pillars and setting clasps are stamped with petite hieroglyphic symbols.
