Description : Statue of Amun. Cast in three pieces in the round, worked with probable frontal viewpoint in mind. The ancient Egyptian creator god Amun sitting upright in a large cube-like throne. Clothed in a knee-length, narrow skirt, his naked torso adorned with a neck collar, the Aegis and rings on his upper and lower arms. His attributes, the ankh sign, staff, chin beard and the adornments of the cylindrical crown are lost. Reassembled, with inlaid eyes. Egypt, probably XXII - XXX Dynasty (942-342 BC).
