The face of the white-colored mask wears on the forehead and the cheeks three incised, blue colored tattoos. On the head, the mask bears geometrically designed structures, similar to a crown, painted in blue, black, white and brown. The monkey-shaped half-head has two slits and a nose slot. These masks appear in the annualy, in the dry season, held large feast of the 'Gelede' -federation, held in honor of mothers.The mask is in very good condition with minimal signs of age and wear. The polychrome color is not completely preserved. The length is 31 cm. (asi)Literature:
