Description : Well carved mask with great artistry design patterns on face. Made of wood, vegetal fibers, raffia, cotton, pigment with slit eyes and open mouth with teeth.. These masks comes from the Chokwe. It belongs to the famous category known as Mwana Êpwo Êand had performed during the ceremonies of circumcision and Êinitiation of Young boys. The headdress Êhair attached to the mask is well preserved. The face shows Êtypical Chokwe scarification patterns and expression. Mid 20th. C. Condition very good.
