Description : Property from the Estate of David Rapkin Description: Two African Wood Masks, probably Igbo, Nigeria, two carved wood masks, one with two figures atop, the other painted with kaolin in bright colors and with one figure atop.
Provenance: Exhibited African Art in Unlikely Places: The David Rapkin Collection, University of Nebraska, Eisentrager-Howard Gallery, 2012. Measurements: Height: of single figure mask, 19 1/4 in. x Width: 4 in. x Depth: 3 in. Condition: Overall good condition, both with loss and cracking to painted surfaces, the two figure mask with age cracking from edges, the one figure mask with chip to one nostril and lower lip of smaller figure.
