Description : Clyster Kuba, D. R. Kongo wood, shiny, blackish brown patina, a bellied funnel carved with typical Kuba patterns and a human head merging into a big hand, min. dam., small missing parts (tip), slight signs of abrasion, on wooden base, Kuba artists created a vast number of impressive functional objects, including cosmetic boxes, mortars, cups and pipes. Though such objects possess no religious application, they are made with great artistry and should enhance the prestige of their owners. H: 22,5 cm, (5028/034) Provenance Coll.
