Description : THREE AFRICAN CARVED MASKS Comprising a Chokwe male mask, the oval face with highly stylized coif above the brow carved with tribal scarification, the perimeter pierced for attachments, from Angola, Africa, a Fang carved and painted wood masque of elongated oval form with bulbous brow, painted white overall with blue marking, the perimeter with ritual details, from Gabon, Africa, and Kuba carved wood and native grass helmet mask, the lower perimeter pierced and applied with native grasses, from Congo, Africa. Together with a carved and painted headdress. 4 pieces total H 38 1/2 x W 16 1/2 x D 6 inches. Provenance: Simpson's Auction, Houston, Texas, April 25, 1999
