Description : [ Tribal Art ] SHONA, Simbabwe Nackenstutze mutsago Holz, dunkle rotbraune Patina, ovale, mittig eingemuldete Basis, aufwandig beschnitzte Stutze mit reliefierter Zickzack-, Kreis und Rautenornamnetik, leicht geschwungene Auflageflache mit Zickzackmuster an den Seiten und Dreiecksdekoration in der Mitte, min best., die Shona und ihnen verwandte Tsongasprachige Bevolkerungsgruppen in Simbabwe und Mosambik schufen einige klassische Formen afrikanischer Nackenstutzen, die man sofort identifizieren kann, obgleich man sie nicht exakt zuordnen kann. Die Patina entstand durch Polieren, nicht durch Wachsen: Der Glanz ist das naturliche Ergebnis des Polierens von Holz, das von Haarol durchdrungen ist Neckrest mutsago wood, dark reddish brown patina, ovale plinth with moulded middle part, elaborately carved support with zig-zagged, circular and rhombic carvings in relief, carrying a slightly hollowed pillow with incised zig-zag and triangular ornaments, min. best., the Shona and related Tsonga-speaking groups created some classic forms of African neckrests, which can be identified at once, though they can not be attributed exactly.
