This is the rating and price for Pottery Folk Art Memory Jug

Description : North America, United States, ca. late 20th century CE. This mosaic crockpot or jug is a wonderful piece of African American folk-art hand-made using sentimental items from a person's life to create a keepsake known as a memory jug. The artform comes from the tradition of decorating graves of the deceased - here the objects tell a story of a person's life. Seashells, buttons, costume jewelry, keys, bottle openers, miniature harmonica, ceramic tea fish, miniature pistols, and a king cake baby figure. An earthenware crockpot forms the base, covered with clay then each trinket pressed into the surface, preserving pieces of the person's life, which can then be passed down through generations. These items suggest to us that they belonged to a lively and extroverted woman!
