Description : -Pende Art Plaque- -Democratic Republic of Congo- The Pende people live in Democratic Republic of Congo, formerly Zaire. They currently number around a quarter of a million in population., This exquisite piece shows their signature skill and artistry, with two faces carved in relief in front of a diamond pattern made with white kaolin. Provenance: These pieces were collected over a period of, several decades out of collections from America and throughout Europe, including France, Germany, Belgium, and Amsterdam beginning in the early 1960s. The items in this collection have been identified by George Mack, former director of the, Arizona African Art Museum. A fantastic piece that's perfect for your collection! Piece has some wear and signs of use, with a good patina from age. Coloring still visible. Overall, good condition for its age.
