Catalog Notes: Rams are used as important symbols of ancestral presence as the animal is known for its aggressiveness in protecting its family as well as their strength. Carved wooden rams heads, sometimes with traces of the human figure, often adorn the altars of important families and leaders in the Owo region of Nigeria.
