1975Notes : This relatively small puppet would have been part of a larger
superstructure of masks worn in the Ségou region in the didactic Sogow
masquerade. The puppets are called Maani (maa - human beings and ni -
the diminutive of: little people) (Arnoldi in Colleyn (ed.), pp 77-93)
