Primitive Art African Bronze Putchu Guinadji Rider Figurine - Sao / Kotoko - Cameroon / Chad. Lost wax method, from Benin kilns. Depicting three warriors, two with weapons and shields, the third playing a horn. Roughly 15 x 13 1/2 x 3 1/2. Very good condition, chocolate patina.
The Sao were a loosely organized language group that formed a civilization which is now extinct and who occupied a geographical area that covered Cameroon, Chad and Nigeria, between the 12th and the 14th centuries.
