This is the rating and price for Hand-Crafted Pottery Head Artwork, 1850

Description : Black History 1850's African-American Man's Folk Art Pottery Head c. 1850 Black History Artwork, Folk Art in Design, Hand-Crafted Fired Pottery Head of an African-American Man or Slave, Choice Extremely Fine. This highly and skillfully detailed and artistic, Fired-Pottery displaying the Face and Head of an African-American male, perhaps a Slave. Handmade, measuring 6 tall x 7 wide x 6.5 deep, with a hollow interior. Excellent in condition with no apparent damage or repairs, as made. The inside of the head is hollow, thereby reducing weight of this heavy piece of pottery, weighing a few pounds. The style is absolutely distinctive having sharp, crisp features, yet it has a true Folk Art appeal. This artwork is not signed or dated, though the appearance, style and patina suggest our dating. A definite museum quality example which is perhaps identifyable as to its maker by specialists in the field of Black History artworks. Perhaps unique, and certainly meant for display.
