Description : Grebo Mask, Ivory Coast, blue and white pigmentation. Significant dancing wear on the inside of this African mask shows decades of ceremonial use. Grebo people (or Glebo) is a term used to refer to an ethnic group or subgroup within the larger Kru group of West Africa, a language and cultural ethnicity, and to certain of its constituent elements. Provenance: Private collection collected between 1910 and 1930. SIZE: see attached ruler photo.
