Description : 18th-19th century AD. A wand with tapering bronze shank and bone handle, the shank hexagonal in section with lotus leaf detailing and incised scrolls, gilt finial of an open hand (to receive libations?), handle with integral carved collar. 113 grams, 21.5cm (8 1/2). Property of a South African lady, formerly in the private collection of Dr. Frederick Lorch, Swiss geologist and author on Egyptian antiquities, and managing director of S.A. Minerals Corporation, acquired from the early 1960s to the early 1980s, thence by descent to the current owner. [No Reserve]
