Description : Egypt, 18th Dynasty, Ca 1479 to 1425 BCE. Very fine steatite scarab covered in green glaze. Typical beetle form with rope bordered cartouche of Tutmosis III on base. 14mm long. Provenance: Ex Philip Mitry collection. Mitry was a large antiquities dealer in Cairo in the 1940's and 50's , moving to Los Angeles in the mid 1950's with his massive collection.
