Description : Egypt, 18th to 25th Dynasty, Ca 1550 to 657 BCE. Very fine steatite scarab covered in green glaze. Typical beetle form protective amulet, base carved with image of Ptah holding a staff, 15mm long. Provenance: Ex Philip Mitry collection. Mitry was a large antiquities dealer in Cairo in the 1940's and 50's , moving to Los Angeles in the mid 1950's with his massive collection. All items legal to buy/sell under U.S. Statute covering cultural patrimony Code 2600, CHAPTER 14, and are guaranteed to be as described or your money back.
