Description : body swelling slightly towards the base, the cylindrical neck with a broad disc below the rim, 4in. (10.2cm.) high, mounted, a small tapering cylindrical jar, with a flat slightly flared base and thickened rim, Middle Kingdom, circa 2000 B.C., 23/8in. (6cm.), with old label on the base ink inscribed, 'Alabastron from tomb Luxor, guaranteed by Cairo Museum' and a tall slender Hellenistic banded alabaster alabastron, with two vestigial lug handles and narrow ground rim, circa 3rd-2nd Century B.C., 73/8in. (18.8cm.) high, mounted (3) Provenance: The property of a private collector. The first and third items acquired from Charles Ede Ltd., London, the third item accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
