Description : Door lock Mali, Bamana wood, brown patina, metal sheet, remains of kaolin, in the shape of a standing figure with zoomorphic head, long rabbit-like ears, decorated with geometric carvings, complete with cross-bolt, min. dam., traces of abrasion, on wooden base, locks of this type are of North African and Islamic origin. This finely carved example offered the protective power of ancestral spirits to the granary it guarded.
