The crusty patina supports the expressive power of the mask, which is wearing hair in the sharp beak. The mask symbolizes a Calao (hornbill) and occurs for entertainment. The dancer tells the story of Calao, considered the bringer of culture at the Dan. This mask comes from the Dan-Touba from the northern region.
