Description : AFRICAN TRIBAL ART, CARVED WOOD MAMBILA MASK - From Cameroon and Nigeria. Helmet mask representing a hybrid animal, a dog with open mouth, protruding eyes and horns bent backwards. Such masks used in ceremony and dance were central to the practice of ancestor worship and agrarian rites. Fact sheet accompanies mask. Condition good, wear commensurate with age and use.
