This is the rating and price for Baule Bronze Door

Description : Africa, Ivory Coast, Baule culture, ca. 18th-19th century CE. The Baule are one of the Akan peoples. They moved west to the Ivory Coast more than two centuries ago and adopted sculptural and masking traditions from their neighbors, the Guro, Senufo and Yaure peoples. This is a lovely bronze cast representation of a door with a relief of a large-beaked bird in profile in the center. All of the bronzes from the Pickard Collection and have been checked out with a museum expert on ancient bronze who worked for both the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Sackler Foundation. It is extremely rare to find small, ancient African bronzes that are authentic. These are the real deal! Size: 5L (12.7 cm) x 2-3/4W (6.9 cm). Provenance: Ex-B. Pickard private collection, Oklahoma City, OK, Mr. Pickard began his collection in 1959 following university studies in Africa.
